Pay Slips and Single Touch Payroll – Huge Misconception that could land you in trouble

Pay Slips and Single Touch Payroll – Huge Misconception that could land you in trouble

There is a misconception out there that if you are registered for Single Touch Payroll then you don’t need to provide pay slips to your employees. This is not correct and could land your business in trouble.

Single Touch Payroll is an ATO requirement. Pay Slip is a Fair Work Ombudsman requirement. As these 2 are separate requirements and you need to comply with both of them. The misconception comes from the fact that if you are registered for Single Touch Payroll, then you don’t need to provide the year end payment summaries (previously known as Group Certificates). This makes sense because both the Single Touch Payroll and Year End Payment Summary are the ATO requirements.

With AccXite, we generate a pay slip at the time of lodgement and email it to the employee when you lodge the single touch payroll with the ATO. This ensures that you are covered for both ATO and Fair Work requirements.
